First United Methodist Church in downtown St. Petersburg, FL is seeking an energetic and creative Part-time Preschool Coordinator of Children's Ministry. We are a dynamic, family focused, Spirit filled church that is active and growing. This person will work on a team of four and report to the Children's Director. Applicants must love young children, be energetic, creative, organized, fun, and be able to develop and direct a team around you. This position will oversee an average of 60 children, age 2 years through Kindergarten each week, as well as a team of paid staff and volunteers who create life changing ministry each week.
Duties include, but are not limited to: Planning lessons and teaching one Sunday and one mid-week Children's service, recruiting of volunteers, and being part of a team to plan several special events each year. This position is paid hourly with an average work week of 12-15 hours.
Qualifications for this position include a strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a willingness to embrace the United Methodist tradition. An AA Degree or Bachelor's Degree preferred and experience with teaching and working with young children.
