Large West Houston (Katy) church has an opening for a dynamic, full-time Director in Youth Ministries. The Director will focus on and direct the energies of the Youth Ministry which includes Jr. High and Sr. High students in missions, worship and small group studies.Candidates should have experience in leading a variety of programs for youth, possess the necessary training and/or experience to plan, organize, and develop programs. The ability to facilitate and lead events that engage and involve all of the young people is important.
We are looking for a person who in their own life seeks to love God, follow Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, and who feel called to minister youth. The candidate must have excellent skills in communication, both oral and written, organization, and interpersonal relationships.
It is preferred that this person have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four year college in a field related to the work involved as a youth minister. Professional experience is preferred along with experience as a youth director or equivalent work experience in a closely related field. It is an exempt position that does not require ordination and the Director will be an employee of the St. Peter's United Methodist Church.
