The United Methodist Church of Battle Mountain, Nevada, has been in existence for over 100 years. It is a small church of 30 members with an average Sunday attendance of 17. Our intention is to be a warm, caring family, where people come to know their gifts and to use them in service to God. In our church people freely acknowledge Jesus as Lord of their lives, increase in faith, and share this faith with others. As a dynamic church proclaiming the Word of God, we intend to be a church that C.A.R.E.S. for others by: Committing to worship; Activating disciples; Renewing believers; Equipping for ministry; Serving the community.
We are seeking someone who is gifted in preaching, teaching, and leadership skills. This Christ-called person should be an excellent communicator with administrative strengths. A ministry degree from an accredited Bible College or Seminary is desirable. We need a pastor with an outgoing personality, servant’s heart and a strong desire to reach our community with the love of Christ.
Battle Mountain is a mining town of 3500 people with 10 churches located in Northeast Nevada. Major health care facilities are available. Northeast Nevada is the high desert “west” of wide open spaces with 50 miles between towns. It is located 3-5 hours from the metropolitan areas of Reno to the West, Boise, ID to the north and Salt Lake City, UT to the east.
