Christ Church, St. Peter’s Parish, Easton, Maryland, a dynamic and growing Episcopal church on the beautiful Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay, is actively seeking a talented and motivated individual for the position of Minister of Music. It needs to be appreciated that we are committed to the understanding that worship is the principle work of the church; therefore this is not a job - this is a calling.This position is full time for a candidate who is a gifted organist, with Choral skills, and experience with contemporary worship services. The successful candidate will have a demonstrable passion for both traditional and more current music and worship. We seek someone with a mature commitment to Christ; who is able to bring the profound power of music to life as a proclamation of the Gospel; and, through this medium, to touch those who come to worship with joy, grace, hope, glory, and awe. We seek someone equally enthusiastic about bringing people to the knowledge and love of God, and who is able to facilitate this through relevant, beautiful, and compelling worship experiences.
The Ministry is also being offered as several part-time positions as one will see on our parish website.
We offer a competitive salary plus benefits, to be negotiated. Proficiency on keyboard or other appropriate instrument for musical accompaniment of a contemporary band and choir is desired. The position includes the challenge and opportunity to build attendance at a contemporary Sunday service in transition, an established traditional service, and a to-be-developed alternative worship service.
