This position is planned to become a full-time position. We currently offer matching retirement for this position and we have a plan in place to move to full-time and offer other benifits.
Our heart is that people experience Worship that connects them intimately and powerfully to God and the truth that is spoken. Our vision for Worship as we started Covenant of the Cross was to be Eclectic, Energetic and Exuberant in our Worship Experience each time we gathered.
That takes on many tones and methods, but is our guiding principle and goal. Whether the song be low key or fast it should embody the power and presence of God for those participating in Worship. Drama and other elements added to Worship should build the theme and fit the spirit as it moves among the gathered congregation.
Worship, as everything else at Covenant of the Cross, is expected to be relational and building of our relationship with God. As a Purpose Driven small groups (circles) based church Worship is expected to be held in balance with the other ministry areas.
Being open to and developing the gifts, skills and talents that God sends to us is imperative in building toward the promise of what God wishes us to be. Culturally diverse worship is one area in which we seek to grow and multiply our abilities so that we can reach the growing diverse population of middle Tennessee.
Our goal is to have everyone come into the presence of God during Worship and enabling that to happen in culturally appropriate ways for those present as well as those that we are attempting to reach for God.
Covenant of the Cross is an Open and Affirming (ONA) congregation that seeks to live the five biblical purposes of the church in balance within the context of a circle (small group) based regional church. We are currently completing the construction/build out of our new 500 seat auditorium which we expect to occupy soon.
Attached are three Documents for our Application Packet (So we do not use snail mail all over the place.) One is our values, faith and greater description, one is our set of "get to know you" questions and the other is a listing of packet contents. If there are elements which you do not have, please just tell us you do not have them as it is not a hinderance for us - we just wants as big a picture as possible. You can also use YouTube and other sites to demonstrate some of this stuff.
